Jim Gorski
Attorney of Counsel

Jim Gorski is entering his 40th year practicing law in Alaska. He is easing into retirement by remaining affiliated with the law firm in an Of Counsel capacity. As such, Jim continues to provide business and transactional advice to many of the law firm’s long-standing clients and for a few select new clients. He is not, however, taking on new litigation matters.

Jim has been professionally recognized for years as a peer-reviewed AV-rated lawyer. He has been named a Super Lawyer since 2013 in the fields of business and corporate law and a Best Lawyer since 2011 in the fields of real estate, corporate law and general commercial litigation.

The law continues to provide Jim with challenging and rewarding problem-solving work. He looks forward to passing on his experience to the younger members of the firm so they will be equipped to handle the legal challenges of the future.

Fred Odsen
Attorney of Counsel

After Fred Odsen graduated summa cum laude from University of Washington in economics, he decided to stay in Seattle to attend law school at UW. He was most interested in the interrelationship between economics and business and the applicable laws which regulate or affect economic and business activity.

In 1978, just a few months after graduating from law school, Fred joined the law firm as an associate and later became a partner. Practicing primarily in the areas of real estate, business transactions, foreclosure and bankruptcy, Fred has received some of the highest peer reviews and awards in the legal profession including an AV Preeminent rating, Best Lawyers in America and Alaska Super Lawyer.

“I try to serve clients honorably, effectively, in a reasonably timely manner and at a fair cost,” he says of his legal philosophy.

When he became Of Counsel to the firm in 2016, Fred moved back to the Seattle area where he and his wife set about remodeling their home. They enjoy spending time with family and friends and exploring and traveling—particularly in the Pacific Northwest. He most recently was designated as a 2019 “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in litigation–bankruptcy in Anchorage.
